Making A Pantry part 2
I turned my old fashion ice box nook into a cute pantry.
Porch Cat, Porch Cat, what do you do all night?
Making A Pantry part 1
I am turning my old fashion icebox nook into a cute pantry. I lined the inside with wood, painted it, installed adjustable shelves and boom. Cute pantry.
I present you, Porch Cat. One of my roomies starting feeding him and now he won’t leave the porch. He never tries to bum rush the door and he probable catches mice and bugs or something, so he can stay for now….
Jacuzzi Tub tiling part 1
I learned that most home improvement projects aren’t that hard. It’s really just a matter of figuring it out, having patience and watching a ton of youtube videos. Oh and listening to good music. And not freaking out if you mess up. Cuz’ you can always re-do it ya know?
These are a few snaps of the tiling process. The hardest part was cutting the tile. The dummies who owned my home before me installed this jacuzzi tub. It’s awesome eh? But they did so very unevenly. So basically, the tiles needed to frame in the tub start from the left at 1 inch wide and as it progresses across the tub to the right, the frame narrows unevenly. The tile on the far right is less than half an inch wide. This meant I had to custom cut each piece of tile (50+ total) at these bizarre angles and widths. It was less than fun and incredibly frustrating since tile cutters don’t like to be super exact and scorching small tiles is tough. I did a lot of sanding and cursing.
Back to your regularly scheduled program…. I’ll be catching you up on more home improvement and knick knack collecting!

My desperation is your win, cuz’ my stuff is pretty damn cool.

I’ve been watching too many “how-to” videos for my recent home renovation aventures. This guy is a little c-r-a-z-y, but his videos have been by far the easiest to follow and the most helpful (and the most entertaining).
< TUMBLR FRIENDS! please share! >
I recently purchased my dream home in Richmond Virginia with aspirations to attend VCU for my masters. I play in a band and do music full time as well as run my own vintage clothing shop which means I divide my time between RVA, DC and NYC. I am basically a ghost roommate, coming back to my homebase in Richmond a few times a month. I’m 26, female, love PBR and whiskey, ride my bicycle everywhere, love to surf, used to own a motorcycle, know how to throw a good party, and can cook the best Mexican food you’ve ever eaten. My one current roommate is a firefighter, rides a motorcycle and loves the outdoors. We are both sad to see our other housemates leave but are excited and making new friends.
The way the house is set up, there are two large private rooms on the first floor. They have big windows and nice closets. The first floor has a large living room, parlor, formal dining room, and kitchen. The house has a newly renovated bathroom, washer / dryer, and central AC. There’s a nice back yard with room to garden in (one is already planted) and a 2 car garage you can use. There is a private master bedroom upstairs with it’s own bathroom. There is a huge basement with tons of storage area. The house is partially furnished so there is tons of room for your belongings (ie sofas etc). In addition the neighbors, with whom I am friends with, are all young 30 something couples and totally sweethearts. We’re near the tennis courts and pool too! The house is less than 10 minutes from VCU and downtown and located on the bus line. The grocery store is 5 minutes away and there’s tons of little bodega type places within walking distance. I biked to VCU, and it was a nice little ride, bout 20 minutes.
I have some random photos on my blog, it hasn’t been updated in a while thought - http://hellorichmond.tumblr.com/
